An Unconventional Library – Little Free Library

“It began with an idea and a memory. One person. A tiny, one-room school house. Something to slow down the cars along the St. Croix river in Hudson, Wisconsin. A place to share books and conversation. Then something wonderful began to happen.” … Todd Bol.

The first Little Free Library became alive. The originators of this social enterprise, Todd Bol and Rick Brooks, first met in 2009 and discovered that they shared a commitment to service and the quality of community life around the world. With a simple mission to promote literacy and the love of reading and to build a sense of community, the Little Free Library project has now become a worldwide movement and is targeting to build more than 2,510 libraries around the world!
