The Trend Setter

I often wonder how fashion designers get inspired. I see men wearing jeans half way down their bottoms, I wonder if jeans were designed to be worn fashionably that way. Or was it an idea someone came up with when they realised that their jeans were getting too small for them, so they improvised. Anyway, whatever the case, I am not inspired. I do find that designers are not as innovative today. I compare today with the 80’s, 70’s and the 60’s. How interesting was fashion then? There were many flavours of conservative style, cuts, colourful patterns, and in general, tasteful designs and form of dress. Fascinating how fashion has evolved over decades.
Could today’s fashion industry be exhausted? Perhaps Library Archives can be used to source inspiration. Libraries all around the world hold archives in the form of Images, Magazines etc..  It’s a gold mine for designers, be it architectural designs, or fashion.

Here at work, I get inspired by Emerald, she’s trendy, hip and funky when it comes to fashion. I wonder what inspired her?!
