Cathryn Harris finalist for telstra business women’s award – is there something in the SA water that we don’t know about?

And if it’s not the water, then what’s with these South Australian librarians who get nominated for awards and often go on to win them?   (You might remember that Hayley from SA water won an IOG ALIA Excellence Award last year – she’s currently in sunny Puerto Rico at the IFLA conference that was part of her prize).

I’m pleased to tell you that the latest SA SPUN community member to be nominated for a prestigious award is Mount Gambier Library Manager Cathryn Harris.

Hardly one to shy away from a spotlight or a promotional opportunity, Cathryn has been a constant PR machine for the fancy new Mount Gambier Library, and also the town itself. Early this week, for all her efforts she was nominated as an SA finalist in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards, in the White Pages Community and Government Award category.

Go to the official site  to read about her nomination. Or better still, plan a trip to the library to see what it’s all about for yourself. Congratulations Cathryn, and best of luck in the finals.
